HannanBhai, a writer, researcher and editor, is widely recognized for his exceptional contributions to Shah Abdul Karim and other folk musicians from Sylhet. He played a pivotal role as an early publisher of Shah Abdul Karim’s books when many were yet unfamiliar with Karim’s work.
Moreover, HannanBhai owned a renowned bookshop named Boipatra from the early nineties to the twenties in Sylhet. My memories with Boipatra and HannanBhai are profound. What made it extraordinary was his deep understanding of each customer’s literary preferences. He would recommend books tailored to each person’s reading abilities. I express my gratitude to him for suggesting numerous remarkable books that have enriched my life in various ways.
On this special day, HannanBhai, I want to convey my heartfelt thanks to you. Even though you may not have social media accounts, your impact is remembered and appreciated.
